Recipe: Braised turnips

Vi gillar majrovor, och de kan ätas på många sätt. Här kommer ett tips på stuvade majrovor. Gott som tillbehör eller som del av en sallad eller topping på en pizza och kan anpassas med valfri smaksättning.

Ingredients

Method

Turnips - however many you want

A little oil

Pinch of salt

A dash of apple cider vinegar (or other vinegar alternatively white wine)

A little water

Optional flavouring as desired (examples: lemon/preserved lemon, chilli, honey, marmalade, chopped herbs)

1. Wash and peel the turnips (if they're baby size, you can leave them unpeeled), cut into chunks

2. Heat a saucepan with oil

3. Add the turnips and add a pinch of salt, stir

4. Add a little vinegar or wine and stir, add a dash of water, just enough to cover the bottom of the pan

5. Put a lid on and turn the heat down to medium. stir every few minutes and add more water if needed. 

6. Continue until the turnips are tender, remove the lid and increase the heat again, stir continuously until the liquid is gone and the turnips get a bit of colour. 

7. If desired, add flavouring of choice

8. Done!
