Apple press

This is where apples become juice and craft cider. Whether you want your apples turned into raw or pasteurised apple juice, or you have an overflow of apples that you don't want to see rot away, we hope we have a solution for you. Please read the whole text!

DROP-OFF of APPLES - on Örtagårdsvägen, next to the red barn. Can't find it? Or need help? - Call George on 073 263 4683

Sun 29/8 2-4 pm

Sun 5/9 4-6 pm

from week 36 (week starting 6/9) Fridays 4-6 pm & Sundays 10am-12 noon

If you need to leave apples at other times from these, please email us on info@thekitchengarden.se and we'll try to find a time that works!

IMPORTANT: Apples must be dropped off clean (imagine you're going to eat them), and not rotten. Wind falls and apples with marks on are fine, but not wind falls from animal pastures.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER:

1. JUICE FROM YOUR OWN APPLES

Raw or pasteurised

Minimum 20 kg apples (if you want to drop off more than 100 kg, email or call a few days before)

Pasteurised - 1 L glass bottles - 40 kr/L (incl glass bottle and VAT)

Råmust –  20 kr/L (i medhavd plastdunk – måste vara ren) – boka tid om du vill ha råmust!

This is how it works: You leave in your apples during our drop-off times or by arrangement. When you leave your apples, you fill in a form which you leave with your apples (instructions on site!). Once we've crushed, pressed and pasteurised (if wanted) your apples, you'll get a text message from us to say that your juice is ready to be collected (normally around the same time as drop-off a week later).

2. DROP-OFF EXCESS APPLES

Vill du lämna in ditt överflöd av äpplen? Vi smakar gärna och om vi tror att de kan passa till must eller cider tar vi tacksamt emot och du får en värdecheck i retur som du kan använda i vår lilla butik, på vår hemsida eller på våra evenemang. Värdechecken är på 6 kr/L must.

IMPORTANT! Apples must be from gardens that are free from pesticide and other chemical use, and not in proximity to a high-traffic road.

3. HARVEST OF EXCESS

IMPORTANT! Apples must be from gardens that are free from pesticide and other chemical use, and not in proximity to a high-traffic road.

GOOD TO KNOW

Mängden must påverkas bl a av äppelsort och mogenhet. För de flesta sorter som är mogna, kan du räkna med att få drygt 1 L must för varje 2 kg äpplen.

You can see if your apples are ready by cutting one down the middle - if the seeds have turned brown, it's time. When fruit starts to drop it can also be a good sign that they are ready.

Damaged fruit and wind falls is ok - but it is important that these are not from an animal pasture.

If you let your apples mature after harvest before coming to get them pressed, check your apples regularly and remove any with signs of rot.

Apples, like most other things, take up chemicals and pollutants, so it is a good idea to only use apples that have grown in a garden free from pesticide/other chemical use and that hasn't grown near a high traffic road.
